Longmont Police Arrest Suspect In Arsons

LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - Police have arrested a 31-year-old man suspected in a string of fires set in Longmont since mid-June.

Authorities tell the Longmont Times-Call that Conrad Eugene Nilsson was arrested Tuesday on charges of second-degree arson, two counts of first-degree arson and one count of attempted fourth-degree arson. He was being held in Boulder County jail.

It was unclear if he had a lawyer.

Fires were started at a storage unit facility and two spaces in a mobile home park. Police say they believe a fire started in a brush and debris pile at an apartment building Monday night was started by the same person who set four others last week.

No one was injured, but 13 apartment residents have been temporarily displaced because of smoke damage.
