Longmont Man Faces Charges For Allegedly Making Acid Bombs
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A man from Longmont is facing charges after police say he set off several make-shift acid bombs.
Police arrested Leo David Gerritzen on Thursday. He's facing charges of possessing an explosive material and attempting to use an explosive device.
Police say Gerritzen placed one of the bombs at the home of a former landlord with whom he had a dispute and another outside a friend's home.
The blasts happened last weekend. Nobody was hurt.
Gerritzen's wife told police he was making the bombs as part of a science experiment to show their children how chemical reactions work.
