Lombardi Named Colorado Sportscaster Of The Year
DENVER (CBS4) - CBS4's Vic Lombardi has been named Colorado Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
The win, which was announced on Friday, marks the first such award for Lombardi, who has already won numerous other awards for his sports coverage, including more than 20 Emmy Awards. One radio or television broadcaster from each state is chosen for the annual awards.
Lombardi's coverage of the Broncos signing of Peyton Manning during 2012 was exemplary, as was his coverage of the Broncos memorable 2012 season. His "Vic's Signature" reports on CBS4 News at 10 also continue to be very popular.
"Vic is that rare sports anchor who is both a creative presenter and a serious journalist. This is a well deserved honor," said Tim Wieland, CBS4's news director.
