Lightning Strikes 1 Juvenile Male In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A lightning strike hit one juvenile male in Aurora on Friday afternoon as thunderstorms passed over the Denver metro area.

The lightning strike happened about 3:49 p.m. in a field near the bus stop about a quarter-mile from the Aurora Towne Center, near E. Alameda and E. Centerpointe.

Aurora Police officers were the first on scene and one officer performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

There were holes in the ground believed to be left there by the lightning where the boy was struck.

The juvenile male was rushed to Aurora South with life-threatening injuries. He was then transferred to University Hospital. The age of the victim is unknown.
