Warm And Windy To Start March
DENVER (CBS4) -
After a slight cool down on Wednesday, we are back to much warmer temperatures across Colorado. We jumped back to the upper 50s in Denver and some areas on the eastern plains saw the low 60s.
We're going to be very windy on Friday, as temperatures continue to climb. The mercury will rise to the upper 60s for the front range and plains! We will see gusts over 20 mph here in Denver, while much strong winds are expected in the foothills and eastern plains.
A Red Flag Warning and Fire Weather Watch go into effect on Friday morning at 11:00 am thanks to gusty winds and very low humidity.
Temperatures stay warm on Saturday, and winds are still breezy.
Then a cold front will enter Colorado Sunday causing a drop in temperatures and a good chance for snow in the mountains starting Sunday morning. The front should reach the metro area around 3-4 p.m. and once it arrives, we'll have a chance for light snow through early Monday. At this time it looks like very little if any accumulation at lower elevations. We'll keep you posted!
