Kaine At Denver Event: Men Don't Talk Like Trump

DENVER (CBS4)- Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine rocked the campaign trail on Monday by appearing at a rally in Denver where musician Dave Matthews performed. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's son, Eric, attended a business roundtable for his father on Monday on the first of a four day campaign trip in Colorado.

Kaine says Donald Trump's dismissal of the vulgar comments he made in a leaked 2005 tape as "locker room" talk are insulting not only to women, but to men as well.

Kaine made the comments Monday afternoon at the National Western Complex.

Hillary Clinton's running mate said Trump "cannot look at a woman and see an equal" and his crass comments aren't representative of what men normally talk about among themselves.

"No two people are going to agree 100 percent on everything but look at the VP debate, there were things that Mike Pence wouldn't defend Donald Trump on, and on Saturday Mike Pence said, 'I can't defend Donald Trump's words' and so maybe in some sense it wasn't that surprising. I do think there is some internal tension within that ticket," said Kaine.

Kaine also blasted Trump for saying at the debate that he would put Clinton in jail if he were president. Kaine said Trump's comments were unfit for a democracy and said Clinton "will not give a second thought" to Trump when she's elected.

Trump attended a business round table in Greenwood Village on Monday morning. He will be meeting with the oil and gas industry and veterans while in Colorado.

When asked how the Trump family was coping with the audio tape released on Friday, Trump replied, "I think he had an amazing debate last night, I think we got a lot of things on the table. I'm proud of my father for saying, 'Sorry' about his words and I think it's also amazing because actions speak louder than words and when you see Hillary's actions over the last 30 years as it pertains to women, they've truly been awful."
