Jake Plummer Could Be Open To A Job In The NFL
DENVER (CBS4) - Former Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer has been showing his face a lot in Colorado lately and was recently seen hanging out with John Elway at Broncos training camp a couple weeks ago. Plummer was the guest on Xfinity Monday Live! and talked about getting that itch for football again.
"We moved back down this way and I went to my first real, live NFL game where I was just going as a fan without anything happening," Plummer said. "So I went to the game, a few games last year, and it just really gave me an appreciation for what I did in my career. I watched Peyton (Manning) run out against the Steelers and was like, 'Wow, that was me for four years here, and what a thrill it was.' "
Plummer said even though at times it was a bumpy ride, every moment on the field was a thrill and he really enjoyed his time in Denver. He said Broncos owner Pat Bowlen told him that he's welcome to come visit the team at any time.
"Mr. Bowlen invited me back. He said, 'Any time you want to come out.' He loves to see his former players out there, and not just the quarterbacks, anybody that played as a Bronco, he wants them to come out and feel a part of this," Plummer said.
Lombardi asked Plummer if he would be interested in taking a more active role in the NFL, whether it be with the Broncos, a coaching job, or anything in football.
"I don't know. I used to say 'never' a lot, and now I've changed my mind … doing some TV stuff and just kind of saying, 'Whatever is out there, try it out.' You never know who you are going to meet, who you will run into and try to still continue making a positive influence on people and my fans. I love to see my fans and tell them 'thank you.' "
