Injured Climber Rescued From K-2 Peak, No Details On Condition
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — An injured climber has been airlifted from K-2 Peak southwest of Aspen, but no information on the climber's condition has been released.
The Pitkin County Sheriff's Department says a group led by a climbing guide from Aspen Expeditions found the injured person Sunday afternoon. The guide and his party were descending Capitol Peak at the time.
Mountain Rescue Aspen and a Black Hawk helicopter from the Army National Guard training center in Gypsum responded. The climber was at about 13,500 feet elevation.
The helicopter took the climber to Aspen Valley Hospital.
