Deadly Crash Caused I-70 Closure Eastbound Near Empire
(CBS4) - Eastbound traffic on Interstate 70 was closed for a deadly crash investigation. Colorado State Patrol responded to the Empire/U.S. 40 exit. The interstate reopened at around 2 p.m.
However, drivers are warned about significant backup as the scene is cleaned up.
Colorado State Patrol tells CBS4 a motorcycle and a Subaru crashed. The motorcyclist did not survive.
Details about the passengers in the Subaru were not released. CDOT reports traffic was backed up to the Eisenhower Johnson Memorial Tunnels.
Passenger traffic was diverted off the interstate onto County Road 308.
