Hit & Run Law Adds Another Consequence

DENVER (CBS4)- A new law goes into effect on New Year's Day in Colorado that adds another punishment for hit-and-run drivers.

People who leave the scene of an accident that seriously hurts or kills someone could have their license suspended.

A police officer will be allowed to immediately confiscate the driver's license of anyone who violates the law.

The driver will then have seven days to ask for a hearing before the suspension goes into effect.
