Hiker Who Fell To Death Near Aspen Identified
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - A hiker who fell to his death near Aspen has been identified as a 41-year-old man from Dillon.
The Denver Post reports that Pitkin County recovery crews will try Wednesday to recover the body of David Morano.
Morano died Saturday after falling more than 200 feet near Pyramid Peak about 2 miles east of the Maroon Bells.
Mountain Rescue Aspen says crews will attempt the recovery using a helicopter and longer ropes than normally used in such operations, because of the steep, rugged terrain.
