Hickenlooper Recognizes Colorado Military

DENVER (CBS4) - Gov. John Hickenlooper recognized members of the military for keeping Colorado and the nation safe on Monday.

Hickenlooper met with a group of 100 veterans and active service members at the state Capitol.

The governor also said they play a major role in Colorado's economy.

"Over $4 billion each year from our military stations goes into our economy, not to mention the thousands of accessory jobs created on those installations," Hickenlooper said.

The governor also said the state has a responsibility to make sure the 425,000 veterans are taken care of because of their service to the country.
