Heavy Rain Floods Metro Streets, Urban Waterways
DENVER (CBS4)- Days of heavy rain over the Denver metro area have caused street flooding and the South Platte River to overflow its banks in some places.
The river went over its banks in Confluence Park on Tuesday afternoon during a heavy rain storm.
The water completely covered stretches of the bike path in the park and nearly toppled over trash bins.
The heavy rain caused street flooding, which resulted in slow-moving traffic. The City of Denver's wastewater management spokesman said crews were on standby in case storm water drains became backed up.
