Hazmat Incident After I-25 Crash Leads To Extended Closure
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4) A semi and two other vehicles were involved in an accident Tuesday morning on Interstate 25 that caused a lengthy closure of the southbound lanes of the highway.
Emergency crews closed the southbound lanes of the highway near Castle Rock just after 5 a.m. and hazardous materials crews were called in to do cleanup. Two people were extricated from their vehicles.
The highway wasn't fully reopened again until 5 hours later.
The vehicles involved appeared to be a semi, a truck carrying an oversized load and a car that was driving along with the oversized load.
