Greeley Teacher Who Had Student's Child Gets Jail Time
GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) - A guilty plea was made from a Greeley teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Rhonda Eisenberg and the teenager had a child together. On Wednesday in a plea agreement she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted sex assault on a child by a person in position of trust.
The charges stem for a relationship Eisenberg had with a student when she was teaching Spanish at Northridge High School in 2010. According to police documents, the student was 17 years old at the time.
Eisenberg was the student's legal guardian after his parents moved to Mexico.
As part of the plea agreement two charges of sexual assault were dropped in exchange for a guilty plea on the one charge of attempted sex assault on a child by a person in position of trust.
By pleading guilty Eisenberg now must register as a sex offender and will spend 90 days in jail.
Eisenberg didn't comment to CBS4 as she left court on Wednesday. She remains free on bond and is expected back in court on March 17 for sentencing.
