Golden High School Tennis Coach Arrested In Prostitution Case

DENVER (CBS4)- A tennis coach at Golden High School has been arrested on prostitution charges. Troy Lowrie, 46, was arrested during an undercover sting operation by Denver police.

Lowrie has been the boys' tennis coach at Golden High School for the past two years.

An undercover officer in the prostitution sting said Lowrie told her he owns PT's Strip Club and asked her to work for him.

The Jefferson County School District commented on whether Lowrie's primary business was considered when he was hired as a coach.

"It is possible if they clear a background check that we may not know what they do when they're not coaching," said Jefferson County Public Schools spokeswoman Lynn Setzer.

The district said Lowrie did clear his background check and that parents have been notified of the arrest.

Lowrie and his attorney did not return calls to CBS4 for comment. Lowrie is scheduled to return to court August 11.
