Girl Killed By Train Was 16-Year-Old From Wellington

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — The death of a 16-year-old girl who was hit by a train in northern Colorado has been ruled an accident.

Victoria Archibald of Wellington was struck by a train near town before 5 p.m. Monday.

The Larimer County coroner's office identified her Tuesday and said the death was an accident.

Investigators have not said why the teen was on the track.

Several friends CBS4 spoke with on Tuesday said Archibald -- who went by the name Torry -- was walking on the tracks with her headphones on when she was hit and speculated she may haven't heard the train coming in time to get out of the way.
