Gas Prices Fall To Less Than $2 A Gallon In Denver Metro Area
DENVER (CBS4)- Retail gasoline prices across the Denver metro area dropped this week to settle at an average of less than $2 per gallon.
Colorado is one of 49 states seeing a drop in prices. It was as low as $1.92 at the Safeway at 26th and Federal but the staff put it up to $2.02 just moments later.
Nationwide prices at the gas pump fell 7 cents this week, to reach an average $2.22 per gallon.
Association experts say ample domestic supplies have kept down prices at the pump.
AAA officials say, barring any unanticipated disruptions in supply, that the national average this year could also fall below the $2 per gallon threshold for the first time since 2009.
Hawaii is the lone state that saw a rise in gas prices.
