Frozen Body Wrapped In Blanket Found In Weld County
GREELEY, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - A frozen body wrapped in a blanket has been found under a bridge three miles east of Lochbuie.
The Weld County sheriff's office says a county public works employee found the body of Adrian Tavera-Avalos, 33, Friday morning. Authorities say it appears the body was dumped there.
Undersheriff Margie Martinez tells The Tribune in Greeley that investigators couldn't immediately tell whether the body was a man or a woman because it was frozen to the blanket. The body was taken to McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
Autopsy results were released on Saturday. Tavera-Avalos had suffered from blunt force trauma in the head area.
"The body is believed to have been dumped in the area of County Road 53 and County Road 4 east of Lochbuie sometime in the last 7-10 days," Sheriff John Cooke said in a statement.
