Front Range Community College Employee Sentenced For Theft
WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- A former employee of the Front Range Community College was sentenced to probation for stealing from the college.
Pamela Colette Green pleaded guilty to felony theft and embezzlement of public property for stealing textbooks and general merchandise from the college.
Green was sentenced to four years probation and paid $75,000 in restitution to the college as part of the plea bargain.
The college estimated that about $300,000 was lost due to Green's actions.
Green worked as a textbook buyer at Front Range Community College in Westminster.
According to court documents, she used government purchase orders and her state issued charge card to make unauthorized purchases for personal gain, received cash for sales of books to wholesalers which should have been credited to the college and deposited college checks into her personal account.
Deputy District Attorney Steve O'Dorisio told the court that Green used her management position in the book store to cover her tracks by manipulating the internal computer system that records purchases, sales and inventory of books. The thefts took place from July 1, 2008 to October 31, 2011.
