Fort Collins Police Officer Injured In Crash On E. Mulberry St.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Fort Collins police officer was injured in a crash on Friday afternoon at the corner of East Mulberry Street and Remington Street. The officer was responding to a report of a robbery around 3 p.m. when the accident happened.

Investigators said the officer was driving westbound on Mulberry Street with lights and sirens activated. The collision involved a Subaru station wagon traveling north on Remington Street.

Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. Investigators have not released their condition.

Eastbound Mulberry was closed for about 5 hours from South College Avenue to Mathews Street. The road reopened around 8:15 p.m.

The police department's Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling team is investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229.
