Fort Carson Welcomes Home Another Round Of Soldiers
FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Fort Carson formally welcomed home a small contingent of the 4th Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team after a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan.
About 75 soldiers returned on Saturday.
A welcome ceremony was held at the post Saturday morning.
The brigade has about 3,800 members. It usually takes weeks or months for an entire brigade to return.
As the 1st Brigade cames home, the 2nd Brigade shipped out for Afghanistan. That unit's deployment is also expected to last about a year.
Fort Carson's 3rd Brigade returned from Iraq earlier this year.
