Filling Potholes A Never-Ending Job For Denver Public Works Crews
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Public Works is rushing to fix the potholes in Denver streets before the next storm hits.
It was a busy weekend for Denver Public Works crews as they filled about 600 potholes, and now that the snow has melted on many roads, they have plenty more to fill.
This year alone Denver Public Works filled more than 10,000 potholes, and February was the snowiest February on record, so there's plenty of snow left on the ground.
With the cold and then warm weather, potholes seem to be everywhere, meaning crews have had to go to work when they normally wouldn't.
"They usually come in on the weekends to fill potholes, but that's usually in the spring. So spring has came early this year because we've had the warmup-cool down," Heather Burke with Denver Public Works said. "Crews are definitely filling all these potholes that are popping up."
The sun was definitely out and shining Monday, but there could be even more snow later in the week, meaning more potholes to come.
