FEMA Denies Individual Financial Assistance For Black Forest Fire Victims

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied individual financial assistance for residents affected by the Black Forest Fire in Colorado Springs.

Gov. John Hickenlooper has 30 days to appeal the decision.

El Paso County can still apply for assistance to pay for damage to public property.

The fire burned more than 14,000 acres in June and destroyed 488 homes. Two people were killed.
