More Evacuations Ordered For Communities Near Estes Park Due To East Troublesome Fire
ESTES PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - Additional communities around Estes Park have been placed on mandatory evacuation orders Thursday afternoon, as the East Troublesome Fire rages into Rocky Mountain National Park.
The following alert was issued at roughly 2:45 p.m.:
"Officials have ordered Mandatory evacuations for the following areas of Estes Park that were previously on voluntary evacs: the area with the north border of Peak View Drive, west border of Marys Lake Road, and south and east borders of Fish Creek Road; also, the area with the north border of North St. Vrain Ave, west border of Curry Drive, south border of Acacia Drive, and east border of Fish Creek Road. Mandatory Evacuations have been ordered for residents and business occupants in the area due to immediate and imminent danger."
Earlier in the day, Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith issued evacuation notices for communities within the following boundaries:
"North border of Fall River Road, south border of Highway 36, west border of Elm Road, and the east border of Wonderview," the county wrote in an emergency message. The exit route from the area for evacuees is Highway 34 eastbound."
The wildfire burned a shocking 100,000 acres on Wednesday and crept past the national park's western territory.

The fire is within about 10 miles of the Cameron Peak Fire burn area, and some fear the two will soon merge.
Westbound U.S. Highway 36 is closed between Lyons and Estes Park -- it is only only open eastbound, for people leaving town.
Additionally, CO 7 is closed at the junction with CO 72/Peak-to-Peak Highway
The Loveland/Westminster evacuation route is: Eastbound Highway 36 is open and two lanes for eastbound traffic all the way to Lyons.
For Black Hawk evacuation route: Highway 119 (Peak to Peak Highway) is open for southbound traffic to Gilpin County.
As for the Cameron Peak Fire, Larimer County Sheriff's office says some evacuations away from Estes Park will be lifted on Thursday.
