Emergency Toy Drive An Unbelievable Success

DENVER (CBS4) - CBS4's emergency toy drive turned out to be a huge success. The Boys & Girls Clubs now doubled their goal, collecting more than 19,500 toys total.

There were smiles galore at the annual holiday party held at the Wilfrey Boys & Girls Club in Denver on Wednesday. It was the day the kids get to use their Club Bucks points earned for doing their homework, completing projects and helping others. The kids with the most bucks got to pick first from an impressive selection of toys.

Samayah Montero, 7, was the first.

"I earned 213," Montero said. "I did homework and I swept and I swept and I did my work."

Montero chose a shiny new bicycle for her holiday gift.

Shukri Hassan got a coveted autographed Nuggets jersey.

"I would do anything just to go to a Nuggets game," he said.

Still drop off toys for the Boys & Girls Club at any King Soopers location through the end of the month. The toys are used as incentives for the kids all year long.
