Driver Won't Face Charges In Deadly Accident Involving Pedestrian
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)-A driver won't face charges after a deadly accident involving a pedestrian. It happened Tuesday at about 8:20 p.m. on Kipling Street just north of Colfax Avenue.
Police said Jill Sypert, 48, of Evergreen, was killed after being struck by a vehicle. Sypert was crossing Kipling in the middle of the block, not at a traffic light with a crosswalk.
The driver, Jerome Baca, 57, stayed at the scene after the collision. He was cited for not having proof of insurance.
Detectives are awaiting toxicology reports on Sypert to determine whether drugs or alcohol were factors in her death.
