Driver Jumps Out Of SUV Before Crashing Into Lake

DENVER (CBS4)- A driver had to jump out of his SUV seconds before it crashed into a lake and became submerged.

The SUV crashed into the lake at Garfield Park on Mississippi near Irving just after noon on Wednesday.

Dive teams went underwater to hook the vehicle to a tow truck so it could be pulled out of the water.

The driver said he heard a "pop" and then lost control of his vehicle.

"I jumped out before I even got close to the water. Yeah, I wasn't about to go take a swim," said SUV driver Tony Pacheco.

Pacheco was not hurt. Investigators are looking into what that pop noise may have been.
