More DPS Students Get Chance To Earn College Credit
DENVER (CBS4)- More students with Denver Public Schools will get the chance to take college classes while still in high school. This comes after DPS is awarded a $3 million grant.
The grant will help expand the early college model program to 10 more schools and 10,000 students.
They will be able to take between one and four semesters at the Auraria Campus.
DPS said students will gain confidence and be better prepared for college by taking the tougher classes.
"Most important to succeed and master college-level courses to have that absolute confidence and knowlege that they will go college and will suceed in college and that's what this grant is for," said DPS Superintendent Tom Boasberg.
Students taking the college classes receive both high school and college credit.
