Denver SWAT Says Goodbye To Veteran Officer
DENVER (CBS4)- Denver SWAT said goodbye to a decorated member of the force on Friday.
Willie Roundtree joined the Denver Police Department in 1980 and spent the last 24 years with the SWAT team.
Roundtree said he's seen it all over the years; from hostage situations to working as a sniper and responding to the Columbine High School shooting.
At the retirement ceremony, Roundtree thanked his teammates and offered some words to live by.
"Never forget that what you bring to the table and what you leave behind will not only define you as professionals but will also define you as men," said Roundtree.
His fellow officers gave him a commemorative rifle and thanked him for his support.
