Denver Public Schools To Open 8 New Schools

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Public Schools has approved opening eight new schools starting in 2013.

Four of the schools will be run by the district and the other four will be charters.

Most of the schools will be in northeast or downtown Denver, but the Excel Academy will open in the southwest to help students who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of dropping out.

DPS had already approved opening an all-boys school and another school of science and technology.
