Denver Police Crack Down On Ticket Scalpers

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are cracking down on ticket scalpers.

Last weekend plain-clothes officers were on patrol before the Chargers v. Broncos playoff game. Their operation resulted in 10 arrests and the recovery of 39 tickets. They also took in $7,834.

Scalpers attempting to sell tickets to last weekend's playoff game via Craigslist were met in person and taken into custody.

Among those arrested was Jeffrey Perreault who is the main distributor of sports tickets for street vendors in Denver.

Police want to remind people it is against the law to sell tickets to events above face value.

Police are also warning buyers to beware of fake tickets.
