Denver Police Arrest 3 Young Men, Juvenile For Robbery

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police said they have arrested suspects in a robbery that happened early Tuesday morning.

Sonny Jackson with Denver police said at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers responded to a robbery call in 1000 block of Grant Street.

"A lone male reported he was robbed by a group of black males. Officers aired the description of the suspects. Officers located a group matching the description of the robbery suspects near Civic Center Park," Jackson said in a statement. "Officers attempted to contact the parties when several of them ran from the officers."

Jackson said eight individuals were detained. It was determined four were identified as suspects in the robbery.

The suspects have been identified as Ashley Howard, 18; Leonard Walters, 19; Rodney Mitchell, 19; and a juvenile male.

Jackson said another robbery occurred about 30 minutes earlier at 11th and Corona. Police are investigating to see if the robberies are related.

"Denver Police had saturated the area with officers due to recent aggravated robberies in the area," Jackson said.
