Denver Motel That Helps Needy Gets Makeover
DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver motel that helps needy families got an extreme makeover on Friday.
More than 200 volunteers from the Metro Denver Hotel Association teamed up with Volunteers of America to spruce up the Family Motel on West Colfax Avenue.
The motel serves the homeless, veterans, runaway teens and people having a tough time making ends meet.
"Today this has been just a monumental, just a wonderful experience. I'm so proud of our association and our community to pull together for a project of this magnitude," Red Lion Hotel General Manager Matthew Anderson said. "I was just in shock this morning with all the people who showed up to help out for this monumental task."
The volunteers painted all 40 rooms and the exterior all in just 10 hours.
