Defense Gets Evidence In Aspen Murder Case

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Pitkin County District Judge Gail Nichols has ordered the release of court files involving William Styler III and Nancy Styler to their defense attorneys after the Stylers were charged with first-degree murder in the death of a prominent Aspen woman.

The files ordered released Tuesday include search- and arrest-warrant information that has been sealed by court order since the investigation began on Feb. 26, when Nancy Pfister's body was discovered inside a closet at her West Buttermilk Road home.

Over the weekend, authorities arrested a third suspect in Pfister's death, 56-year-old Katherine Carpenter. Carpenter is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Stylers rented Pfister's home until she returned home from traveling in Australia last month. Carpenter called police to report finding Pfister's body.
