DA Says Trooper's Actions Justified In Glenwood Canyon Shooting
(CBS4) - The actions of a Colorado State trooper in a shooting last month along Interstate 70 were justified, according to Garfield County's district attorney.
The attorney says Trooper Shane Gosnell was justified in shooting and killing Thomas Ornelas.
Gosnell and Trooper Eugene Hofacker stopped in Glenwood Canyon last month to help Ornelas, who had been driving a car that was parked in on the side of the highway. That's when they say he started shooting.
Hofacker was seriously hurt and is still recovering.
