Customers Tackle Colorado Springs Grocery Robbery Suspect
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A 27-year-old man is facing robbery charges after he was tackled by customers at a King Soopers grocery store after someone grabbed money from a cash register and tried to run.
Colorado Springs police said they were responding to a report of a theft at the grocery store on Sunday and found the man being restrained on the ground by customers.
Police say Joseph Grimmig shoved a clerk at a register aside when the money drawer was open and grabbed some cash. The money was recovered.
