Curfew Extended For Castle Rock Teens

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4)- Teenagers in Castle Rock will soon be able to stay out a little later during the week. The curfew of 11 p.m. has been pushed back to midnight.

The later curfew begins May 3. Teens 18 and younger will be allowed to stay out for an extra hour during the week.

A group of students worked with the city council to extend the curfew. It's also part of a plan to get all cities in Douglas County on a similar curfew schedule so that it's not confusing to teens driving from one jurisdiction to another.

"If a student is living in Parker but works in Lone Tree, they know that the curfew is the same for both locations," said City of Lone Tree spokeswoman Kristen Knoll.

Parker and Lone Tree have midnight curfews for those 17-years-old and younger. Douglas County has an 11 p.m. curfew. Castle Pines has an 11 p.m. curfew Sunday-Thursday and it's midnight for Friday-Saturday.
