Crews Work To Finish Containing Lefthand Canyon Fire

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Firefighters have mostly contained a wildfire in the foothills west of Boulder.

The fire was 90 percent contained by Monday afternoon.

Fire managers say they are finishing up work on the final stretch of containment lines. These are the most difficult to build because the terrain is steep and rugged.

The fire has burned 622 acres. All evacuated residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

Authorities have said the blaze was caused by people but they haven't said exactly how it started.
