Coyote Pup With Mange Spotted In Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) -- Colorado Parks and Wildlife shared a warning about coyotes in urban areas, after a pup with mange was spotted in Colorado Springs on Sunday.
"Its bare tail indicates mange, caused by small skin parasites called mites. Mange can be highly contagious," CPW tweeted. "It's another reason pet owners are strongly urged to protect their pets from coyotes."
Officials said coyotes are common in Colorado, including in urban areas.
