Core Samples From Commons Park Give History Lesson At Biennial Of The Americas
DENVER (CBS4) - Wednesday brought a history lesson to the Biennial of the Americas celebration in Denver.
A geologist was on hand to explain the core samples that were pulled out of Commons Park. The samples are part of the "Implant" public installation created by Marcela Arms. The samples reveal Denver was once under water.
"These cores give me a history that it was a marsh, low-energy river, stream, deposits, 64 million years ago," retired geologist Paul Belanger said.
The samples will be sent to Mexico City and samples from Mexico will come to Denver as part of the final installation.
