Community Responds To The Arapahoe High Shooting
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) – The Shooting at Arapahoe High School has affected the lives of even those not directly involved in the incident.
"I'm just saddened by everything that went on," said Bob Prangly.
Prangley's children graduated from Arapahoe High School decades ago. But the tragedy has still had a lasting effect on him.
"It impacts everybody," said Prangley.
Just around the corner of the school Prangley attended a special sermon at Shepherd Of The Hills Church Sunday morning.
"There were lots of handkerchiefs out," said Prangley.
He told CBS4 a member of the Littleton School District spoke about the excellent effort between the school, authorities, first responders and the church.
"He talked about the sadness, and the anxiety of all the people that were there," said Prangley.
"I don't think it has hit me yet. It doesn't seem real," said student Chris Davis.
Davis doesn't know victim Claire Davis very well but put up a sign trying to raise money for her.
"We're just trying to help out the family, and the victim. Anything we can do to help them. We won't let them go through it alone," said Davis.
Back at Shepherd Of The Hills Church a special prayer was said for the community.
"I know there's a lot of strength there in that school system, and they'll bring it back," said Prangley.
There's also a new effort for Claire on twitter.
Her friends say she is a big fan of the group "One Direction" and they're trying to get the group to come and visit her.
