Colorado's Night Skiing: Few Crowds, Incredible Sunsets
- Written By CBS4 Producer Garrett Boyd
DENVER (CBS4) - If you haven't hit the slopes lately, you're missing out! Conditions are incredible as snow is falling regularly in the high country. Most resorts have the majority of their terrain open. The pre-season, rush-hour traffic feeling is finally gone while you're on the mountain!
If you're really looking to avoid the crowds all together, night skiing is your answer. It's been one of my absolute favorite things to do all season. There is nothing more peaceful than racing down the slopes with a sunset as your backdrop.
Keystone is one of the Colorado resorts that is open well into the night. Sometimes you can ski as late as 8:30 p.m. Even though the entire mountain is not open at dark, the slopes are often empty. That gives you a relaxing, wide-open atmosphere to play in. It's also a great time for new skiers to learn without navigating the crowds.
Besides Keystone, Ski Granby Ranch and Steamboat also offer a handful of runs that are lit for night skiing.
Don't miss out on the incredible experience. You won't regret it!
