Colorado Woman Accused In Dragging Death Due In Court

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Prosecutors are expected to lay out their case against a Colorado Springs woman accused in the dragging death of a tow truck driver.

The Gazette reports that 33-year-old Detra Dione Farries is expected to attend the preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Farries faces 11 charges, including manslaughter and vehicular homicide, in the Feb. 23 death of 35-year-old Allen Rose.

Rose was preparing to tow an illegally parked SUV when someone allegedly got in and drove away. Investigators say Rose tried to chase the SUV but got tangled in a dangling tow cable and was dragged for more than a mile.

Farries was arrested two days later.
