Colorado Springs Shooting Suspect Kills Self During Police Standoff
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A suspect in a triple shooting in Colorado Springs killed himself after he was cornered by police.
News station KKTV reports that shooting suspect Michael Arangio, 24, was cornered Saturday in an apartment in a complex called The Resort at University Park.
Arangio is suspected in a shooting that left three teens dead Wednesday night. Police received a tip from his parents earlier that he was in the complex.
The (Colorado Springs) Gazette reports that police tossed tear gas into the apartment and were trying to send a robot into the unit Saturday afternoon. Several residents near the apartment had to be evacuated.
Police found Arangio's 2002 Nissan Xterra on Friday.
