Colorado Springs Settles Former Employee's Lawsuit
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs has agreed to pay its former finance director $250,000 to settle a lawsuit alleging she was improperly fired.
A federal judge granted a motion Tuesday dismissing the lawsuit that Terri Velasquez filed in 2011. She had sought $1 million in damages over her dismissal. She contended she was fired after reporting concerns about financial mismanagement.
The city didn't admit to any wrongdoing or liability in agreeing to settle.
