Colorado Lawmakers Eligible To See Bin Laden Photos
DENVER (AP) - Three members of Colorado's congressional delegation are eligible to see photographs of Osama bin Laden after his death.
The offices of Sen. Mark Udall and Reps. Doug Lamborn and Mike Coffman confirmed Wednesday that the lawmakers have been invited to view the photographs because of their membership on Congressional intelligence and armed service committees. The Denver Post first reported on their eligibility.
A spokeswoman for Udall said the Colorado Democrat requested a chance to see the photos. Tara Trujillo said Udall believes it's due diligence for two branches of the government to look at them.
Lamborn's office is making arrangements for him to view the photos at CIA headquarters. But Coffman says he'll pass. As a Marine combat veteran, he says he has no desire to see what he expects to be gruesome images.
