Colorado Governor, Lawmakers Discuss Upcoming Session
DENVER (AP) -- Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and leaders from the Legislature will be talking about the upcoming 2012 session.
Hickenlooper will be joined by Republican House Speaker Frank McNulty and Democratic Senate President Brandon Shaffer on Friday at an annual event at the Colorado Press Association.
The event with the governor and leadership from the Legislature can provide a glimpse of what lawmakers will be working. The Legislature convenes Jan. 11.
The state budget is expected to be one of the most heated issues as lawmakers debate whether to keep a property tax break for seniors and spar over increases in Medicaid spending.
