Coloradan Amy Adams Nominated Again For An Oscar
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (CBS) - Actress Amy Adams, one of many Coloradans who has become famous in Hollywood, has been nominated once again for an Academy Award.
Could the third time be the charm?
The Oscar nominations were announced Tuesday morning, and Adams was honored as a Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role in "The Fighter." She's up against some stiff competition: Helena Bonham Carter, "The King's Speech," Melissa Leo "The Fighter," Hailee Steinfeld, "True Grit" and Jacki Weaver "Animal Kingdom."
The award ceremony will be on Feb. 27.
The Castle Rock native had previously been nominated for "Junebug" and "Doubt."

Adams was born August 20, 1974, in Italy but her family moved to Castle Rock when she was young. She sang in the choir at Douglas County High School and danced at the Boulder Dinner Theatre which is where she was discovered.
Her first major breakthrough role was in Disney's "Enchanted" where she starred as Giselle. She performed one of the nominated songs from Enchanted at the 2008 Oscars.
Recent releases include "Julia & Julia," "Leap Year" and "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." She gave birth to her first child in 2010.
