CDOT Adding Barriers On Highway 285 Where 2 Crashes Occurred Over The Weekend

CONIFER, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Department of Transportation will make changes to a stretch of U.S. Highway 285 following two accidents in just two days, one of them was deadly.

CDOT says they have been working on a plan to install 700 feet of concrete barriers in the area just west of Conifer for a while.

On Saturday a Jeep Cherokee lost control and crossed over into oncoming traffic. The Cherokee hit two motorcyclists head on. Both were killed in the crash.

On Sunday a minor crash closed the highway again for a couple hours.
